Estate planning is the process of ensuring that someone can make legal, financial, and health-related decisions if you are unable to, as well as providing a set of instructions to manage your belongings and assets when you pass away.

We provide our estate planning services as a component of our comprehensive financial planning offering. Estate planning is so important to ensure that your wishes are respected during times of illness, injury, and ultimately, after your passing that we also provide it as a standalone offering. Please note that while our standalone offering may address specific financial needs, a comprehensive plan takes a broader view, providing a roadmap for your overall financial well-being.

Starting at $1,800, our estate planning offering includes:

  • Net Worth Statement

We will create a document that provides a snapshot of your financial situation at a specific point in time that also includes a summary of assets, liabilities, and overall net worth.

  • Estate Tax Liabilities & Probate

We will calculate your estate tax liabilities and probate fees to shed light on how to minimize tax obligations and streamline the distribution of assets to your beneficiaries.

  • Legal Document Review

We will review your legal documents such as your will or Power of Attorney documentation to ensure that the documents are accurate and aligned with your intentions.

  • Family Tree

We can help to create a family tree which is a visual representation that illustrates the familial relationships and connections among individuals who may be involved in the inheritance or distribution of your assets.

  • Beneficiary Summary

We will provide a summary that outlines and details the individuals or entities who will receive assets, property, or other benefits upon your passing.

  • Asset Flow

We will review the asset flow in your estate plan to ensure that the distribution of assets is in line with your wishes, minimizing potential conflicts among beneficiaries, and maximizing the benefits for intended heirs.

  • Digital & Unusual Assets

We will help you with addressing digital and unusual assets in an estate plan to ensure that these unique, valuable, or sentimental possessions are properly accounted for and handled according to your wishes, preventing potential disputes and ensuring a smoother estate administration process.

Our Approach

Our estate planning service is an informative process that allows you to have control over your assets, plan for the well-being of your loved ones, and manage potential financial, legal, and emotional challenges that may arise in the future. Our team follows a disciplined approach, laid out in more detail here.

At the end of the process, you will walk away with a written document of recommendations tailored to your specific needs and goals. Our aim is to provide you with peace of mind, knowing that you’ve taken steps to safeguard your family and assets. It ensures that your legacy is managed as per your wishes.

Time Commitment

Alitis will be your partner and guide through the process, however your engagement is the key factor in your plans’ success.

As each estate plan is completely customized, the amount of time it takes from the initial meeting to the recommendations stage will vary depending on a few factors:

  • The speed at which you can provide your personal financial information
  • The availability for meetings for both parties
  • The complexity of your situation

Generally, there will be 2-3 meetings from introduction to final recommendations. Meetings are generally 0.5 to 1 hour each in duration. You will need to provide detailed records and statements of your personal & financial information.
